WWOZ Professor Longhair Remembered  ニューオーリンズ





1971年、1972年のベアズヴィル・セッションとされているものは、アルバム「House Party New Orleans Style」と同じセッションだと思いますが、メンフィスとバトンルージュ録音で全5曲、アルバムとダブりがありません。

冒頭のDavid Clayton Thomas (Bloodm Sweat & Tears)の曲は、デイヴィッドがフェスに贈ったデモテープだそうです。同名の曲は彼のアルバムに入っていますが、これは明らかに別バージョンです。デモという呼ぶには完成度がかなり高いです。

Brooklyn Robertはフェスのコンサートをよく見にきていたファンでハーモニカ吹きだったそうですが、フェスが持っていた彼の演奏のテープからの放送です。フェスのギグの前座でピアノを弾いています。Brooklyn Robertは1978年にニューオーリンズ市内で銃で撃たれて亡くなったそうです。
